- Tidiness=first impression, cleanliness and no tall weeds or debris
- Heritage Conservation=canadian flag, family name displayed, family ancestry, special awards
- Landscaping= art objects, gardening theme, balance of plants to area, rocks, bricks, stones, gravel, use of benches, arbores, gazebos, bridges
- Flowers= annuals, biennuals, perennials, variety of grasses, wildflowers, use of baskets, pots, tubs, planters, beds, edging, mosaics, handplanted, use of theme colors-purple , white and orange
- Trees/shrubs= conifers and deciduous, harmony within location
- Environmentalism= composting, mulching, rain water collection, downspouts, bird feeds, houses, gardens, recycling, solar lighting, bathouses
- Grass= green, healthy, trimmed, no tall weeds, groundcovers
