Notice of Preparation of Assessment Roll for 2011

Notice is hereby given that the combined tax and assessment notices have been mailed on June 7, 2011 to all property owners in the Town of Smoky Lake. In accordance with Section 211 of the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, Chapter M-26 with amendments in force as of October 18, 2004 all persons are deemed to have received their combined tax and assessment notices as a result of this notice. Taxes are due on or before August 31, 2011.

The assessment roll is open for inspection at the Town Office, 56 Wheatland Avenue, Smoky Lake, Alberta during the business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Any person who desires to object to the entry of his name or that of any other person upon the said roll or to the assessed value placed upon any property must lodge their complaint(s) on or before August 6, 2011. The new complaint forms must be filled out and sent into The Town of Smoky Lake. A $50.00 deposit fee is required with each appeal.
