What do you think of the Oilers third jersey?

What do you think about regional water? Do you think that its right that one company should own all the water and charge us what ever they want?

I think a basic amount of water should be absolutely free of charge and provided by our government as a life need. There should be a scale of a certain amount of water per person per household alloted free of charge, that would be required for proper living. Amounts over and above that basic amount could charged. That way im not paying to water someone's lawn.

Our hockey team is coming to Smoky Lake in January for a tournament. Is there any other activities that you can suggest that we can do to keep the team busy??

The site is very nice - If you want to view the Smoky lake Signal website it is smokylake.com. The Signal does not wish to be associated with smokylake.ca.

Whats wrong with the affordable water we have now?People , look at your natural gas bills, your power bills...Do you want to pay through the nose for something that we already have and control?

Will the Chamber of Commerce or the Town post a Business Directory so that we all know who is available in town for work?

What happened to the community calendar that FCSS used to have in the Signal every month? It helped everyone know what was going on in Smoky Lake. It was something positive that supported our volunteer groups. What is our FCSS doing for our community now?

So what is happening with FCSS? Meals on Wheels? Wheels to Meals? Seniors services? Mom's morning out? Interagency meeting? Partnering with other community players? Women' Conference, Youth Centre, Food Bank, Christmas Hampers, Canada Day, Welcoming Service, Community Calendar

Anyone needing information regarding FCSS and its programs please call the Town office at 780-656-3674.

Just a reminder to all the towns people, Election time is just around the corner. It's time for new councillors in this community, one's who accually care whether or not this community thrives. Some people are talking about joining with the county, I say how about we appoint new councillors. The town is going down hill fast and although the councillors want you to believe its all because of their staff, well I think its a direct refection of our councillors who are only in it for personal gain. I ask you how many CAO's has this council been through 2,3? Maybe it's time they looked in the mirror and realize maybe nobody can work with them?

The walking trail is in desperate need of maintenance the weeds are ankle length and very thick, it is very sad to see it so poorly kept.

My mother's maiden name is Billey and she was born in Smoky Lake and we are in the beginning stages of having a family reunion next summer. Any suggestions for where we might hold it in your area would be appreciated. My Dad was born in Lamont. Thank you. You can contact me via my email address which is gailwalt@shaw.ca

The walking trail is in poor position, I agree with that. I wonder if there are good places to cross country ski around here. I plan on starting this winter. Does anyone have a pair of size 7 woman's cross country ski's that I could have?
I am wondering about the recycling program. I can't find any info regarding it's existence. I know there are big town bins, but they seem to only accept cardboard.
What about all the other recycling? Can we blue bag it and include it in recycling Tuesday morning? I do not intend to get up early enough to see what happens. I also do not want to leave it outside on Tuesday in case it ends up going to the landfill.
I would appreciate if someone would respond to my questions. I realize I can go and ask at the town hall but I won't be able to do that before garbage day tomorrow morning.
Thanks for your input.
Sincerely;
Christina Seitz
