NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING on proposed Town & County of Smoky Lake Intermunicipal Development Plan – Town Bylaw No. 001-2023
The Town of Smoky Lake and Smoky Lake County first adopted an Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) in 2016. Municipal Planning Services (MPS) assisted the Town/County in completing the project at that time.
This bylaw has a sunset clause which requires both Councils to renew the document every 5 years or the bylaw will expire. The Town of Smoky Lake IDP was renewed by the Resolutions of both Councils in September 2021.
We are proposing slight changes to the bylaw:
· removing the sunset clause
· updating the historical context
· adjusting goals to align with current strategic plans
· changes to some of the maps
