Return to Play Grant Program
The Government of Alberta has just announced the Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation (SPAR) Return to Play Grant program, which will be administered by KidSport Alberta and the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association (ARPA). There are two grant streams, one for individual grants and one for organizations.
KidSport Alberta will accept applications and distribute $1.85 million of grants to over 7,000 children and youth to assist with the registration costs for sports programs across Alberta. For more information and to apply, please go to: https://kidsportcanada.ca/alberta/provincial-fund/
The SPAR Return to Play Grant for organizations will support community-level organizations rejuvenate and sustain their sport, physical activity, and recreation programming. Financial support will also be provided in reducing barriers to sport, physical activity, and recreation organizations that serve persons with disabilities, acknowledging their unique challenges in returning to play.
Provincial sport organizations, unless offering community-level programming directly related to serving those with a disability, will not be eligible to apply for the Return to Play Grant.
