Things to do and places to go when you come to Smoky Lake

Your trip to Smoky Lake can offer many things to do and places to go. Campers can choose between more then seven campsites within a one half hour drive of the town or just camp at the Golf Corse or in the Town Campsite. Visitors can take the kids to the spray park or check out Pumpkin Park. The Smoky Lake Museum and the CN Museum can take you on a trip through local history.

#1 Métis Crossing – 14k

Campground having 21 sites with power, 20 tenting sites, firewood & showers, guided site tours, picnic facilities, RV parking and hiking trails. You can tour the Metis Cultural Interpretive Centre nestled on the bank of the North Saskatchewan River. https://metiscrossing.com


#2 Victoria Settlement – 18k

Catch a glimpse of a fascinating period of Alberta’s past and choose your own family-friendly experience. Costumed interpreters bring the history of Victoria Settlement to life with engaging activities and diverse tours through two restored buildings nestled in scenic park land.


#3 Victoria Trail – 14k

In late 1999 directional and interpretive signs were installed along the 58 kilometre length of the historic Victoria Trail, the oldest road in Alberta that is still in regular use.


#4 & #5 Hanmore Lake – 25k

With two beautiful campsite locations situated in a large spruce and pine forest. With some campsites available on the Lakeshore Alberta Camping does not get any better then this.


#6 Mons Lake – 15k

Mons Lake is a small sandy bottom clear water lake just 12 minutes from Smoky Lake. It offers two sandy beaches bordered by lawn with playground along with day and overnight camping.


#7 Bellis Lake Campsite – 25k

Beautiful pine forest camping just minutes from Smoky Lake.
Visitors can enjoy clearwater rainbow trout fishing or the kids can play in the new state of the art playground.


#8 Shemeluk Lake – 18k

This calm clearwater lake offers some of the best rainbow trout fishing in the area along with day camp facilities.


#9 Kaduk Lake – 35k

Another beautiful campsite less then one half hour from Smoky Lake
